I am pretty sure that I have a kidney infection. I've never had one before though, so I'm not entirely sure.
As you well know, I have spent the last week being sick. Starting Sunday and lasting until Friday. Sick, nauseous, tired, etc. I knew by Friday that I needed to drink more water after five days of not really eating or drinking anything. The slight pain in my back was telling me to hydrate myself.
The pain persisted, but it was tolerable. No big deal. I kept drinking water and figured I would be fine. And I was. Yesterday was a great day of much accomplishment. Today was good too. We had breakfast and went to church with a slight pain in my back. Then, after church, we invited family friends over for lunch. It was then when I got the hint that I may need more than just drinking some water.
As I was talking to my friend, the pain grew stronger. Then I got the chills. As we were talking, I checked the thermostat which was already on 70 degrees. So I bundled up and curled up on the couch until lunch was ready. I asked her what she thought was wrong with me, and she had had a kidney infection about six months ago, so she asked me a series of questions and everything lined up.
When they left, I took my temperature and found out that I had a 102.5 degree fever. Oops. So, I found my prescription for some heavy duty ibprofen and took it. Slowly the fever went down and I went to sleep off the pain.
Tomorrow, I think I'm going to call the doctor. We will see how I feel in the morning...

In the past I have noticed that taking cranberry pills (found in the vitiman section) did wonder for me. THis is NOT fun. Sorry :(
