Too Busy to Blog?!?!

Whaaa...?!

Yup, it's true. I have been insanely busy, swept away, and actually, honestly, not even thinking of blogging. Here's why:
  • Isa started first grade. Yea, I can't believe it either. My baby girl...a first grader. In a mere couple of months, she will be turning six. *sniff, sniff*
  • I took a crash course, more like a hands-on attempt, at being a wedding planner. Two friends from church were getting married (to each other) and turned to us for some help. She needed her dress taken out a little bit, wanted silver accents on her dress, had small repairs needed for her daughters' dresses, and needed a bustle. The week before the wedding, as well as the day of, I was busy with those things. I also styled hair for their three daughters, helped with pinning flowers, did last minute sewing fixes, straightened her train before she walked the aisle, etc. Oh, yea, and for the reception, Jose cooked some food, I made 2 3-tiered cupcake stands and a 2-tiered stand, and we baked and iced 144 cupcakes. It was such a beautiful wedding. I would do it again in an heartbeat.
  • We bought a deck. Maybe we went about it a little backwards, but it made sense to me. Online, I saw a woman selling a deck. The catch was that the buyer needed to disassemble it. I made arrangements to see it before agreeing to buy it, however when I saw it, I immediately agreed to buy it. The deck was old, but in great condition and huge. Over the course of a week, we made multiple trips to disassemble this deck which was approximately 15 ft. x 30 ft. It was quite a feat. And the best part....we paid $30. Aside from the support posts, we pretty much have everything we need to build our dream deck...a deck that was going to cost an estimated $2000.
  • I started school. Last week was my first week. Two classes: a development class and a theory class. I was a itty bitty bit nervous to begin, but after having the first class, I'm excited. The workload seems manageable and after cracking open the books, I'm eager to learn. Yes, that was not a typo. This chick...eager to learn...same sentance.
  • Isa got sick. Her Quasimoto eye returned and allergies kicked her butt this week, to the point that Jose had to clean up puke (yes, Tonya, PUKE!), but we got her back in order quickly.
  • I got sick. I've been feeling a little rundown, but nothing major. A few days ago, I felt like Death had run over me with a mac truck. My entire body was achy and shakey and I was feverish, but I didn't have a fever. Went to the doctor, who looked at me like I was insane, and prescribed pain killers and muscle relaxers, and ordered blood work. I haven't heard if there was any conclusion from the blood work, but I'm feeling better. I dunno if I feel better because of the drugs or because I'm getting over the ailments, but whichever it is, I'll take it for now. I just hope that it's the latter because when I run out of pills, I don't want this thing to hit me again. I honestly slept for two days straight. It was miserable.
  • We've been selling crap. There's this group on facebook called "[Your Town Here] Virtual Garage Sale" and I have been sucked into it. It's been awesome and we've used it to sell a ton of our garage sale leftovers and to continue to clean through and get rid of stuff. Plus, we've made some change from it, and sadly, bought a couple things too. I bought a marble-top table that I am going to refinish and paint the same color as the house exterior that will go on the deck for $5. I bought a Gazelle, the workout equiptment advertised on tv by that dude with a ponytail and short shorts, for $10.
So, yup, we've been busy, but I love it. And, now that I'm on the mend, health-wise, I'll be back on the horse soon. Well, that's one thing I will NOT be getting involved in...horseback riding!
