Purge, Purge, Purge Your Kitchen

So, as my sacrifice for Lent, I explained here that I am purging through our "stuff" and getting rid of a lot of it...

Today, I spent nearly ALL DAY cleaning our kitchen. I am OCD, so a lot of it was also disinfecting things, wiping off things, etc. My music was an amazing and inspiring help! During the day, my iPod played from our surround sound, and in the evening, headphones were jamming. The booty shaking is a "must" to get a clean house!

I *forgot* to take before photos, so just take my word for it that it was a mess! There was "stuff " everywhere, in the cabinets, on the counters, on top of the fridge, stacked in the corners, etc. It's not entirely done, but it's darn close!

Here we have the stupid pantry. I cannot wait until we have the time to put in real shelves! We will be able to utilize so much more space! This is where we have some of our "overstock" of items, like cleaning supplies.

Today, I went through every cabinet in the kitchen. We filled about two boxes of kitchen purge stuff, including the dishes that didn't match, the random remaining glass or bowl, etc. We also filled about two bags of trash/recycling. In total, about fifteen "doors" and five drawers of stuff.

So far, here's our purge pile. It's on Jose's to-do list to take these things to the garage to get rid of.

So, after about 12 hours of cleaning, I feel tired, yet so amazing. Hope you all have a great weekend! I plan to! Here are photos of the end result. Ignore the dirty dishes, the trash, and the unswept floor (those are Jose's tasks for tomorrow).
