Our Weekend Getaway - Saturday Midnight to Noon

We went to bed late on Friday, probably around midnight.

On Saturday morning, around 6:30 AM, the alarm rang. I failed to hear it, as I do every other day of my life. However, Jose did and he poked me, saying that we needed to wake up. I leapt out of the sleeping position and began bouncing on my bottom on the bed, causing Jose to burst into laughs. He woke up Isa and hopped into the shower. As she got ready, I prepared to take a quick shower as well. We got the kids ready to go, grabbed the last minute items to pack, and loaded into the car. Around 8 AM, we arrived at my mom's house to deliver my children.

After quick goodbyes, Jose and I began our trek by making our way to the next town over and eating a nice breakfast at Bob Evans. It was delishious and a great way to begin our trip. We talked a lot, which led to great conversation in the car.

When we seemed to run out of things to discuss (because that happens when you're old and you've been in a relationship for about ten years), I told Jose to pull out a deck of cars from a bag...they were "Would You Rather...?" cards. These cards held statements like, "Would you rather dig a five foot deep hole with your hands or a thirty foot deep hole with a shovel?" These random questions led us to more giggles and more discussions and conversations as one answer and explaination led us to a story, then another, then more and more.

We barely noticed when, around noon, we had arrived in Columbus, OH and soon made it to our first destination, COSI (Center of Science and Industry).

The rest will come soon!
