Bed Bugs

Last week, while we were selling stuff in our yard sale, my mom was buying stuff in other yard sales. Weeks ago, we had asked her to have my old twin bed from her basement because Isa's long legs had stretched as far as possible to fit in her toddler bed. It was time for my baby girl to get a big girl bed. :(

Well, my mom didn't want to give up ours, so she began a quest to find one and last week, found the perfect bed for her princess. It has a bookshelf headboard and drawers underneath. She paid half and we paid the other half.

So, yesterday, we went to help pick it up, and today, she delivered it (and our kids who stayed all night with her). Thus ensued a few hours of cleaning, moving furniture, and stacking things in the hallway (most of which are still there...anyone want to buy a tv stand?). It also led to a shopping trip to include twin bed sheets of Isa's choice (one set are pink, one are green, and we bought a Tinkerbell pillowcase).

As any good Mommy would, I couldn't resist snapping a pic as I tucked her in for bed. I mean, really, we have to celebrate the milestones, right? So, here she is in her new bed:

And, in typical family sense, once Isa outgrows something, it is hand-me-down time. We have decided that since she was ready to have the next stage of bed, Teo should too. He has proved himself fully capable of climbing in and out of the toddler bed, since he did it every time he managed to sneak into Isa's room. And, he has definately proven himself capable of sleeping all night. So, the toddler bed became his and the crib was disassembled (which is now in the hallway also...anyone wanna buy a crib?)

The adjustment wasn't smooth, to say the least, in regards to Teo. He crawled out and out and out and once we left the room and put a gate in his doorway (we were prepared), he sat in the middle of his carpet and cried. After a few moments, Jose picked him up and laid him in the bed again, and he has been silent ever since.

He looks so handsome and grown up:

So, as they are in their beds, I suppose I should join them. We have a big day tomorrow. And lots of cleaning to finish!

Now I lay me
Down to sleep
I pray the Lord
My soul to keep
If I shall die
Before I wake
I pray the Lord
My soul to take
AMEN
