I left the house once today. Yup, you heard me. One time.
And, the funny thing is, when I left, I didn't even drive anywhere. I walked.
The only reason I went was because it was my first visit with a new doctor. The only reason I walked was because it would take me less time to walk there than it would take me to clean off my car. I am fairly certain that my walk was at least half the time that the drive would have been.
Not to mention, safer. On the news tonight, they said we got 4.8" of snow today. That means that right now, there is 4.8" of snow on my car, because I didn't drive it.
All I hear about from cityfolk is "Where are the plows? Where are the plows?"
I dunno.
But, this I do know...I am again reminded of how grateful I am to have a job that is flexible and that allows me to do much of my work at home.
And, while I was able to get a lot of work done today, even with the snow falling and falling outside, I am not sure how much I will be able to do if there is no school tomorrow. I do have many "super" powers, and I pride myself in multi-tasking, but taking care of both kids and working from home is not one of them.
So, while I am thankful to not have to leave the house when it is gross out, I'm still not a huge fan of winter and the consequential snow.
I am also not a huge fan of those people who use the weather as small talk. Obviously, we all can figure out what is happening outside. There is no point in reminding me about what is in the past. And, I barely even believe the meterologists regarding the forecast, so why would I listen to you? Beyond all that, the weather is just so boring and pointless. Pretty much like this blog.
