Since they are closing, they are having a huge sale and it's one of those "everything must go" kinda things. So, we went. And contributed the last chunk of change that we ever will to that store. Consequently, we came home with about 30 new (to us) dvds (many without artwork or cases, just in sleeves).
After a quick grocery trip, a game of darts with my hubs, and folding all the clean kids' clothes in the basement (at the same time as the darts game), we settled in to watch a dvd. I randomly chose to watch Fast Food Nation.
I really didn't know what all it was about, however, I now regret eating Burger King for dinner. It was the first time we'd eaten there in about six months and I'm sure it will be the last time for the next year...
If I had chosen to give up meat for Lent, this would be have been the perfect movie to watch. However, it doesn't help me much with my choice to clean house. Especially since I nearly vomited at least three times watching it, and as we all know, vomiting means I would just have more to clean up.
I guess the best news is that I am already not an avid eater of red meat (although, up until now, I did enjoy the occassional steak and burger) and that when we went to the store today, we only bought ground turkey. I refuse to touch raw meat. Seriously, I even had a cashier laugh at me once about it. If I must cook, I will use a fork and a knife to cut the raw chicken and I have only once ever been able to make patties out of meat and it was a day I was feeling especially gutsy.
At this rate, I'll be a vegetarian by the time I'm 45....
(Seriously, the movie has been over for about an hour and my stomach is still unsettled...)
