Have you heard the song by Bruno Mars, "The Lazy Song"? Seriously, have you? I liked it before, but today, I love it. Here it is, in case you're unfamiliar...
Okay. Now that you bobbed your head and shook your booty a little...let's talk about me. Because I'm selfish today and it's my blog, so the post will be selfish as well.
I am always a busy one. I seriously know that it's too much at times, but it's a coping mechanism. A rather bad one, but it works for now.
However, today, I felt like doing nothing. We woke up late (around 10, although I'm not sure how that worked!) and went to breakfast in typical routine fashion. Then, we came home. And I laid down with the kids to watch a movie. Then I sent them to nap. And I laid on the couch and watched my newest addiction on the television.
Then, Jose came in after painting the side of the house and mowing the lawn (thankfully, he isn't striken with the same feelings that I am today). He went upstairs where the kids were supposed to be napping but totally weren't. And a friend called. Then, I realized it was after 2 o'clock and we had missed the engagements we had. Although, I wasn't motivated enough to go anyways (sorry!).
So, as an early Mother's Day gift to me, I got an afternoon of lazyness. Jose took the kids to go to eat, to play at the mall playarea, and to do some shopping. And I got an hour long bath with my ipod, followed by a half hour standing in a steaming hot shower with the radio. That's when the song came on and it became my theme song for the day.
I now have a pizza in the oven and netflix on. And, despite my urge to clean or do something productive today, I refuse. Because "today I don't feel like doing anything."
And tomorrow, I'll be back to my busy life. So, just let me enjoy today.
